Our Story

In the 21st century we have access to more health information than any generation before us. We have more fitness apps, diets, supplements, and wearables, than ever. We spend more on health than ever. However, we are still chronically fatigued, stressed, and too distracted to listen to our bodies. Many people feel trapped in a cycle of starting and stopping. More information has not created more consistency. This system is not working. The best program is often the one you consistently follow. And a new supplement will not be the reason you keep the weight off.

We believe there is another way. Improving health requires consistency, decision making, and most importantly rest. At Salt & Iron, we help busy individuals build practical systems that produce sustainable health outcomes. Lasting health is built through stewardship, not optimization.

Salt & Iron was founded by two guys whose world view has been shaped by Christianity. We believe the body is something to steward, not something to worship. Vitality is the aim. Fitness is one of the tools we use to restore it. We implore you to see the value in its function more so than the way it looks. Looks are the byproduct of these systems. The reward is living independently for as long as possible and fully participating in every life event. The quality of your life matters more than the perception of it.

Your Coach

Fitness professionally found me in 2017. However, things felt a bit off with this opportunity to help transform people. It felt transactional, pushy, and unauthentic. The metrics were not about how many people you help but how many dollars you sold. Products plus service does not always translate to transformation. The fitness equation has more variables than that. Time, energy, relationships, and motivation are what I saw that needed to be added to this model. Discouraged, I left the industry altogether after 3 years and decided to take my talents to Firefighting. However, being a first responder is actually what brought me back to fitness and wellness.

Firefighting shown me we are chronically depleted, metabolically dysfunctional, and consistently sleep deprived I include myself in this due to the nature of my work. I became frustrated and curious at how we collectively got here and seem to be the standard. Logging onto social media the standard seemed drastically different than the calls I responded to. The gap has captivated my thoughts and has compelled me to play my part in helping people reclaim their health.

As we work together you will see that fitness isn’t what you said yes to but the vehicle we use to create sustainable change. We will build resilience, grow our endurance, and regain our physical capacity to handle more.

The thing I want you to remember: I want you to build a life vanity isn’t strong enough to carry but vitality has the endurance to sustain.
